The vertical format is ideal for round and disc-shaped workpieces, as is allows for easier clamping, better swarf removal and takes up less space. The one-piece cast Meehanite machine beds are excellent at absorbing vibrations and provide thermal management which reduces thermal expansion to a minimum. This means that, even during continuous operation, a consistently high level of precision and surface quality is maintained when machining demanding workpieces.

The VT-450 and VT-650 turning centres can be ordered with their spindles fitted either on the left-hand or the right-hand side, so that they can be seamlessly connected and automated.

The VT-950+ and VT-1150+ are designed for the cutting of particularly high volumes and/or tough materials. For workpiece diameters of 2 m and above, a portal-based version of the VT machines is available (carousel lathe).
