Lathes with gear spindles

Lathes with gear spindles can generate enormous advances in productivity when used to machine hard-to-cut materials and high-volume components for which high cutting rates are required.

HWACHEON develops and produces its own drives for heavy duty cutting. Particular use of these is made in our Hi-TECH-, VT- and MEGA series. The gears and spindle bearings are actively cooled with oil and maintained at a constant temperature.

Hi-TECH - Series

Highly robust lathes with flat guides for heavy cutting

The HI-TECH series is distinguished by its solid machine beds, wide flat guides and powerful drives. It is ideal for tough, hard materials with high cutting volumes and precision requirements. It can be used to machine workpieces for 200–812 mm chucks with lengths of up to 5 m and weights of up to 4 t.

MEGA - Series

Flat bed lathe for the production of very small batches

The three-guideway flat bed lathes in the MEGA series are equipped with numerical control and hand wheels. This means they are particularly well-suited to the requirements of one-off production and second machining of medium-sized (Ø720 mm) and very large workpieces (Ø2.700 mm, 17 m length und 40 t weight).

VT - Series

Extremely robust vertical lathes for continuous use

The lathes with horizontal spindles are designed for continuous operation. Heavy monolithic cast iron beds with box guideway based travelling columns guarantee a stable cutting process. Mirror-image models are available, allowing two machines to be joined together. For workpiece diameters of 2 m and above, a portal-based design is available (carousel lathe).
