The three-axle machining centre with a portal-based design and a reinforced rear wall ensures high precision and surface finishes - even with materials which are difficult to cut. Set up for HSC and HPC applications, these machining centres fulfil the highest precision and tolerance requirements.
With a maximum table load of 800 kg, the SIRIUS-UM can cope with workpieces of 850 x 500 mm. The SIRIUS-UM achieves its high rapid traverse speed of 24 m/min thanks to high-power feed drives and high-quality linear guideways on all axes. The rapid tool changer, with 24 stations (optionally 30) also supports efficient production. The weight of the 8-tonne machine gives the SIRIUS-UM the stability and smooth running which are typical of Hwacheon machines. The cast Meehanite bed comes from our own foundry and has been optimised with respect to thermal growth and rigidity by means of FEM simulation.
