The SIRIUS-UL+ is the machine of choice when high precision and speed are required at an optimum price/performance ratio. The SIRIUS-UL+ HSC machining center impresses with a number of design features developed to ensure high precision during the usually long machining times common in mold making. The gantry design, with a more closed rear wall on which the X and Z axes are mounted, achieves superior performance in a compact form. Designed with no overhangs or unsupported areas, it provides excellent precision along the entire travels. The wide linear roller guides (53 mm) and generously sized 53 mm diameter ball screws integrate perfectly with the solid Mehanite cast bed (12 tons) for superior rigidity, robustness and precision.
To ensure high precision during long cycle times, the spindle and machine bed are monitored at many measuring points with thermal probes and heat growth is reduced to a minimum. The machine bed is thermally insulated inside and out, and chip conveyor vibrations are mechanically decoupled. Spindle deformation at high speeds is also detected and compensated for. Hwacheon's unique oil-air cooling keeps the motor spindles in the bearings and on the shell surface at a constant temperature and provides optimum lubrication. A wide selection of spindles allow the SIRIUS-UL+ to be ideally matched to almost any application and material.
Modern control technology (Fanuc 31i or Heidenhain TNC640) and a high level of ergonomics and user-friendliness ensure perfect results in the production and machining of complex molds, dies, cores and cavities.
